Pantry make-over.......
Well - I just re-organized my Pantry - for the 758th time over the last five years👩🍳.......It gets so out of hand - so disorganized and becomes such a catch all. I finally got to a point where I could no longer stand it - could no longer find a single thing I was looking for - and didn't even want to walk into that space!
I took a before pix (ugggggg - it looked so bad).....
I took a during pix (this is when it starts to overwhelm me- seeing the empty space)......
I took an after pix (so satisfying - and so glad it's DONE).....
BEFORE......

I can't believe I am posting this HOT MESS of a Pantry..... I didn't touch a thing before taking the pix... You can see that it had become such a catch all. The hardest part of a messy Pantry is that you can't keep good inventory - and end up purchasing double and triple of what you already have when grocery shopping. Another problem - which is so bad on my part - was that I had A LOT of expired canned goods and boxed food!
In the past - I tended to use the Pantry more for a cute place to decorate - and that used to drive my husband crazy 😱 But I kept a goal in mind for this re-do - which was to weed out any items I just wasn't using and organizing all the boxes that were opened and half used. I also wanted to get a lot of things into clear glass containers so that I could walk in the Pantry - and be able to see what I need easily.
DURING.....

Although I should have gotten some
sense of satisfaction from this stage - I felt completely at a loss as to what should go where. I left the liquor bottles up where they were - too tall to move them to any lower shelves and the 1980's microwave stayed where it was (mainly because there is an outlet right behind it) 😂. After tossing out so much junk - and cleaning the shelves and washing the floor - I was ready to throw in the towel and call it a day - but kept plugging along....and got down to brass tacks (my Mom always uses this saying) 😍
AFTER....

Done - done & done! I am pretty happy with the end result. I resisted the urge to decorate the heck out of the space and just stayed focused on organization & functionality.
I got so many of the cute glass containers at Marshalls. Definitely makes a huge difference having flour - oats - chocolate chips - sugars - all in clear containers and not in the bags they come in!!!!! Same for the Pasta I put into clear glass jars - because lets face every fact - there can't be one person out there that likes having open boxes of pasta sitting in the shelf 🤦♀️
Let's see just how long the Pantry stays this neat and organized.....I only have myself to blame if it gets out of control again 🙈. I will be cranking out some cute labels for the glass jars on my Cricut this week.
Until next post :)
